  1. I like how you mentioned that New Orleans differed from other American cities because of the French and Spanish viewpoints. I think that their liberalistic viewpoints on the slaves were a main driving force in the emergence of jazz in New Orleans. Without this viewpoint New Orleans would lack a friendly and open environment that was accepting of different types of cultures and traditions. It is in these traditions that were expressed publicly that helped the emergence of jazz. People were able to openly interact with each other and share their culture. Great post!
